Yesterday, I had the great pleasure to be part of the TEA 2023 (Open Day of the German parliament) and to present the outcomes of the civic lottery run for the Citizens' Assembly on Food (Bürgerrat Ernährung) commissioned by the Deutscher Bundestag, which I advised together with colleagues from Sortition Foundation and Nexus Institute.

About six weeks ago, I had the honour of joining the president of the Bundestag, Bärbel Bas, for the civic lottery event in the parliament. I'm still so glad how much media coverage the event got and how this helped to put the spotlight on deliberation and sortition.

With the final report on the recruitment also published, this was a great way of closing off this fascinating and interesting project for me.

I am now so much looking forward to observing how the process will evolve and how the public will respond to the rest of this exciting endeavour!
